Hi, I’m Amy!

For me, health and fitness were not always a part of my life. I was an overweight child, which turned into being an obese adult. Some of my earliest memories are of being bullied due to my weight. Throughout my entire school career I was made fun of, called names, and only seen by my size, rather than the person I was. When I left school, I married and started a family. I had three children and would spent the years in between yo- yo dieting, trying to reach that standard of beauty that media and society puts on us.

August, 2005, I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I was exhausted- physically, emotionally, and mentally. I was tired of constantly trying the newest diet fad and failing. I was tired of not being able to achieve the “perfect” body. I was tired of having my life revolve around my weight and my size. I began to feel like I was putting my life on hold. Passing up opportunities because I was embarrassed of what people would think of me, of not being able to fit comfortably or exceeding the weight limit, or that I just wouldn’t be able to physically succeed.

When I decided that I was going to take a hold of my life, I was being monitored for my blood pressure, as it had been borderline for some time. My cholesterol was high, I was tired all the time, and I had been having chest pains; which I thought were due to heart issues, but were actually panic attacks. Aug 10, 2015, was the day I took control of my life. I changed the way I ate, I began exercising, I gained a support network of like minded people, and I slowly began accepting and loving myself for who I am and what I look like, at all stages of my journey! What I lost was 80 lbs and went from a size 22/24 to a 10/12, but what I gained was an immense love and respect for myself, a desire and drive to want to be the healthiest I can and the joy to help others by spreading the knowledge, passion, and self love so they can live their best lives.

In 2018, I became a Certified Integrative Health Coach, through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. In May, 2020, I became a registered 200 HR Yoga Teacher. I am currently studying to become a 500 HR Yoga Teacher and in August, 2020, I will begin studying my Master’s at Maharishi International University to become an Ayurvedic Practitioner.

I look forward to working with all of you and helping you achieve your goals and live your best lives.

~Namaste,

Amy
